Who we are
We are a small team (really just myself and friends I rope in to help me) with a great interest in data. After working in many industries, including retail, property maintenance, and construction, I realised that small rural businesses are severely lacking in support when it comes to modernisation. I was tired of watching my friends and acquaintances struggle to come up with solutions, and I didn’t have the time to help them, so I decided to set up my own business so I could officially do some good.
I graduated from the University of Hull in 2013 with a BSc in Computer Science and went on to work in property maintenance as an administrator, using the knowledge I had gained during my degree to streamline their processes. After this, I worked as a freelance artist and graphic designer for a while and was involved in the development and project management of small indie games.
I was finally able to truly pursue my love of data, however, after beginning work for an electrical company that was in dire need of a system overhaul. Here I honed my skills and learned some valuable lessons.
This position also allowed me to begin my Master’s degree with the Open University, where I am currently studying Computing with a focus on data and project management and software engineering. This furthered my passion for data and business development and, after parting ways with my previous employment, I founded AetherHive.
Behind the scenes of all of the above, I have worked on special personal projects, such as developing an application for TREC GB to optimise their event management processes, and the development of new electrical test and inspection software.
I look forward to meeting you!

What we do
To put it in simple terms, we give small and medium rural businesses the tools they need to compete in a rapidly changing world. These businesses often get left behind by development schemes, training, and technology roll-outs, and this is something we want to change by providing affordable services that are tailored to rural business.
We wanted to create something that would help people cut through the language they didn’t understand and break down the barriers that stop them being able to modernise their systems - combating confusion and fear of change with logic and sensible solutions. We don’t believe in large, drastic changes that don’t suit your business - we think this only hinders you and creates stress and pressure points. Instead, we want to guide you on a journey that feels pleasant and safe, where you are completely in control.
We find that rural business owners are almost completely allergic to change, so we’re here to help them overcome this problem on their own terms.
